SEVERINO
Severino was born in the small village of Exu in Pernambuco and was just three years old when his family moved to Juazeiro do Norte. When he was about 18, he began to visit Center Mestre Noza to watch the artists. There Severino learned to make plaques as well as saints and figures representative of Nordestino life – Lampião, pregnant women, and ex-votos. He is the treasurer of the Association of the Artists of Padre Cicero.
