JOTA CUNHA
Since the 1980s, J. Cunha has been working with Ilê Aiyê (Associacão Cultural Bloco Carnavelesco Ilê Aiyê), designing fabrics, tee shirts, carnival costumes and floats for this popular bloco. For Ilê Aiyê, J. Cunha has worked to create a visual identity that is African but also captures the complexity of Brazilian life. He has won many prizes and awards for his work.
